change tires on your mazda

Got or getting a flat tire? Immediately make your way to the side of the road or other location away from traffic, put the car in PARK, put the emergency brake in place, turn on the hazard lights, and turn off the engine.

Next, access your tire-changing kit and spread out the tools in the designated work area. Using your tire iron or other tools if included, remove the rim covering, (hubcap) to expose the rim and lug nuts, which hold the wheel on the axle. Use the tire iron to loosen the lug nuts but do
not remove them completely.

Once you’ve loosened the lug nuts, place the jack in the location indicated by the instructions. Then, use the jack to raise the vehicle until the wheel is just off the ground, a few inches is enough. Remove the lug nuts and be sure to place them in a bag or other container to keep them from rolling away or being misplaced.

Now you can lift the wheel of the axle and replace it with a spare tire. Screw the lug nuts back on but do not tighten them all the way, just enough to keep the spare tire in place.

Next, use the jack to lower the vehicle until the spare tire rests on the ground. Finally, tighten the lug nuts using the tire iron and that’s it. You have successfully changed a tire. Stow your damaged wheel and drive slowly and carefully to a facility where you can repair or replace your tire. We hope this video will help prepare you for when you get a flat tire. Stay safe out there!
