What is Mazda’s SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY?

To develop this technology, the engineers took a look at many different aspects of vehicles. The end result was a technology that would impact every aspect of the vehicle. With the technology, it is engineered to maximize efficiency as well as driving dynamics. This includes the engine technology, the transmission, the chassis, and even the body construction. The end result is a line of vehicles that have impressive EPA-estimated miles per gallon ratings all while not compromising the performance of the vehicle. One of the first places they looked to make some improvements were the engines. If they wanted a vehicle that worked well and had efficiency, they had to create one that was cleaner and more efficient. So they set out to improve the engines and they accomplished exactly that which helped both with efficiency and power.

A transmission is an important part of any vehicle and this was something that the engineers wanted to ensure worked well. Not only should the transmission do what it is supposed to do but they wanted to make sure it responded even faster as well. The 6-speed transmissions that have in the vehicles now have more precision, a faster response time, and have increased efficiency. Overall, it is engaging and ready to allow you to take on the road.

Lighter Body

One of the reasons that the SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY works so well is because the body of the vehicles is now lighter. This allows the efficiency to take precedence while not messing with the power of the vehicle. This is a key component that really result in the entire technology working as a whole. This is needed for it all to work well together and without this component, the SKYACTIV®TECHNOLOGY would not be possible. There would still be compromises but because they added this component, there are none. Overall, with this component, the other improvements are allowed to shine and really do what they were designed to do.
