2015 Mazda Models at Mazda of South Charlotte

Mazda is always inventing, enhancing and improving the design of their vehicles to not only stay abreast of the competition, but to beat it soundly, too. Here are some Mazda vehicles and design concepts to look forward to.

2015 Mazda MX5 (Miata)

The new model 2015 Mazda MX5 appears to be set in stone. That’s a good thing if you love the tradition of the Miata, which many folks do. You can tell they like them because you see them all over the highways between Charlotte, NC and Rock Hill and Fort Mill, SC. You can’t swing a bat in Matthews or Concord, North Carolina without hitting someone in a fun and sporty Mazda, these days. It’s easy to see why so many folks around Charlotte, NC drive this bestselling roadster. Pure drivability, that’s why.

New Looks

The new model keeps its classic sports-car proportions, yet loses a bit of the feminine look from years past. This makes lots of guys who have wanted the fun and power, but not the ladylike appearance, happy. The new shape includes a longer, more dynamic hood, the new corporate grille and sleek headlights, and heavily flanked extension skirts at the sides that give more weight to the stance. The front fenders are sharply creased on their way back to the doors – a feature of the Takeri concept car – and they complement the more rakish set of the windscreen and the duck-tailed lid of the trunk.

New Power

The power still goes to the rear wheels through either a manual or automatic six-speed transmission. As for that power, a new development in the Skyactiv technologies is the “Skyactiv-G2” configuration, which includes Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition. The HCCI setup brings an efficiency level like that of a diesel engine without having to resort to hybridization. What does all of this mean? It means get ready for some driving fun in the new 2015 Mazda MX5!

2015 Mazda Mazda2, or Hazumi?

It might be approaching the end of its long run, but the Mazda2 is still one of the most enjoyable subcompacts out there. It’s possible replacement? The “Hazumi”, which means “spring up” or “bound” – like an animal at the instant it pounces. Sounds fun, right? Mazda has cranked out some pretty great looking vehicles recently, so we can confidently look forward to more of the same. This car, whether it retains the “Mazda2” moniker, or shifts to the new “Hazumi”, is still one fun ride. Whichever name it carries, it will most likely be powered by Mazdas most recent 1.5L Skyactiv-D diesel engine. If you live near Concord or Matthews or Charlotte, NC, think about the fun you could have at a track-day out at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in a new 2015 Mazda2 (or Hazumi). If you are not a connoisseur of track eventing, then how about the tempting fuel economy numbers if you make the commute to Charlotte from cities like Rock Hill or Fort Mill, South Carolina? Either way, this promises to one fun, efficient, and attractive little car.

What Else Does Mazda Have Planned?

Word on the street is that there is a new and very light and sport, Mazda RX-7 in the works. New power plants with developing technologies are always inspiring the engineers and designers at Mazda. Mazda is focusing on styling, too, as you can see if you look at the future concept cars. Any way you slice it, Mazda is at the forefront of design, these days, so folks in North Carolina should keep their eyes peeled for what Mazdas may come in the near future.
