25th Anniversary Mazda MX-5 Miata

A Day of Thanks to Celebrate the Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Mazda MX-5 (Mazda Roadster, as it is known in Japan), the Mazda Motor Corporation is hosting Mazda Roadster Thanks Day in Japan. This special event is to be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 in Urayasu city, Chiba, Japan at the Maihama Amphitheater. Mazda is putting on this event to show their gratitude to the many fans of the Mazda MX-5 that have loved the car for the past 25 years.

Since its debut in 1989, Mazda MX-5 has been popular because it offered the sort of zippy and delightful driving experience that only a small, lightweight sports model can deliver. Mazda wants to thank those loyal enthusiasts by offering the chance to be a part of the unveiling of the new model, and they hope to see many, many guests at the event – which will include a variety of special activities, including an exhibit of models old and new.

After this event celebrating the Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary, Mazda hopes to stay in touch with the loyal customers and, to that end, will pursue opportunities to continue interacting with them. One way they hope to do that is through their digital magazine, ZoomZoom Magazine, which will help keep enthusiasts up with the various goings-on at Mazda Motor Corporation – and keep in touch with each other, too.

Introducing the Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary Edition

Based on the PRHT (power retractable hard top) version of the Mazda MX-5, the special Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary edition will have unique additions, badging and one single color – Soul Red Metallic. This exterior color scheme will include contrasting black top, A-pillars and mirrors – just to set it apart as the special model it is.

The cabin will be dressed up with a hand-finished decorative panel and Almond door trim, satin-chrome louver rings and leather upholstery. There are also Brilliant Black accents inside, on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, shifter boot, handbrake, seatbacks and armrests.  Imagine catching every eye as you cruise the highway in a special edition of this beloved sports car down to Rock Hill, SC, and take a spin around Charlotte, Matthews, Monroe and Concord, NC. While this special edition features basically the same 2.0L engine as the rest of the line, this one will have unique hand-selected pistons. They won’t offer added horsepower, but Mazda says that they will provide improved response and acceleration by allowing the engine to rev more freely.

The exterior will feature special Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary badging marked with the serial number of each car at the front fenders. A special gift also awaits lucky purchasers of the Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary edition – a custom-crafted, Swiss-made Tourneau watch and display winder box. This beautiful watch has genuine leather Italian-made black straps with contrasting red stitching. The rear face of the watch features a sapphire crystal looking-glass that will allow you to watch the movement in action. Of course, the display and watch sets will also be marked with Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary.
