2021 Mazda Homelink

You know what I can’t get enough of? Remote controls! Said no-one ever! Well once you watch
this video this is one remote control you will be able to do without. In this video I’m a-gonna show you how to link any additional remote control devices you have in your Mazda vehicle for
opening garage doors, security gates, or turning on lights in your home.

Now, in most vehicles, the home link controls can be found on the rearview mirror, overhead console or the driver’s side visor. Let’s get started.

Turn the engine off. You won’t need to go anywhere unless you have something better to do, in which case, don’t let me stop you. It’s not like I have anything else to do.

You’re still here? That’s a relief. Now, make sure nobody is around the device which the remote device controls. If you have pets be sure that they’re not using your garage door as their favorite spot. I didn’t check and had to rename my parrot “Lefty”.

Next, press and hold the two outer home link buttons until the red light in-between them flashes, then release both buttons. This clears the home link’s memory and readies it for programming and that means it’s go-time!

Now it’s time to show the remote exactly who’s in control. Point the remote control device at the home link system approximately one to three inches away. At the same time, press the activation button on the remote device and the home link button you wish to use for that device’s function.

Hold both buttons down until the red light changes from flashing slowly to flashing rapidly. This could take up to 90 seconds. When the light flashes rapidly, you’ll know you have successfully programmed your home link.

All you need to do now is press and hold the button corresponding to the appropriate remote control release when the device is activated. Finally, congratulate yourself for your technological mastery. Very impressive.

If you have other devices you wish to connect simply repeat steps two through four.

Now put that remote with the shoe trees, the extra screws that came with those shelves you just built and everything else you’ll never need because you are done, my Mazda muchacho…or muchacha!
